Furthermore, NamWater strives to educate young people especially on the service of delivering water. Information about water related services is made available during industrial shows and during special events such as visits to the corporation’s facilities and infrastructure. NamWater also made a donations to the victims of Caprivi (2004) and Mariental (2006) floods.
Bursary
In addition, NamWater offers bursaries to prospective hard working young persons. A number of young people in the past have graduated in different fields of studies, especially those related to water. Currently, NamWater also has 10 apprentices based at the institution’s Human Resources Development Centre (HRDC) in Okahandja. The 10 apprentices are studying to qualify as Water Care Artisans at the end of 2005. We will now look at other careers in the water sector.
