The Maintenance Division is responsible for the overall setting and monitoring of maintenance standards. It also provides decentralised maintenance services to all Operational Regions throughout the country. The Division is headed by the Senior Manager: Maintenance, Mr. Sebastian Husselmann.
Internal Audit apprises Management, the Executive and the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors concerning the adequacy and effectiveness of the system of internal controls in all phases of the business. The system of internal controls encompasses the policies, systems, and procedures. It also seeks to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management and corporate governance. The Division is headed by Chief: Internal Audit, Ms. Etheldreda Nandi.
The Business Development Division, which started its operations on 1 August 2005 , aims to facilitate the broadening of NamWater’s revenue base. This Division has already spearheaded the search for new bulk water supply customers and the signing of various types of agreements with such customers with a view to either establishing new water supply schemes or to utilise existing schemes to reach new customers. It is with the help of this Division that we envisage being able to fulfil our mandate to the fullest and also embark on other water related activities as provided for under our Enabling Act.The Division is headed by the Senior Manager: Business Development, Mr. Johan Botha.
The Company Secretariat performs administrative functions for the Board and the Board Committees. The Company Secretary also has a duty to advise the Board and Management on Governance related matters. Apart from Company Secretarial functions, this office also provides in-house legal advice and input for agreements the corporation enters into. For matters that have to be referred to outside legal practitioners, the Company Secretary is the liaison between the lawyers and the corporation. The Division is headed by the Company Secretary, Mr. Onni Iithete.
