NamWater recognises its role as a partner in social enlistment and empowerment of the broader community.
For such reasons, some of the costly water schemes projects carried out by NamWater for example the Water Scheme Project at the Southern village of Tees were constructed although there was no cost recovery.
NamWater also makes direct financial contributions. Some of the areas which have benefited from NamWater's community outreach programmes are Young Scientist Fair, Artist Groups, Youth Groups, children in need, schools, etc. The corporation also makes regular donation to communities through various interest groups and assist those members of our community who find themselves marginalised.
The corporation offers bursaries to prospective hard working young persons. A number of young people in the past have graduated in different fields of studies especially those related to water. The corporation trains its own Water Care Artisans at its training institution (HRDC), which is situated in Okahandja, a town 65 km north of Windhoek.
NamWater strives to educate young people on the service of delivering water. Information about water related services is made available during industrial shows and during special events such as visits to the corporation's facilities and infrastructure.
