HR Development Centre
The NamWater HR Development Centre (HRDC) is national vocational training centre registered with the Ministry of Education. The HRDC focuses on formal vocational training and vocational skills upgrading as well as short courses on information technology and general management.
The HRDC is located at the S Von Bach Premises, i.e. I 5 km outside Okahandja town on the Okahandja/Windhoek road.
Vocational Training
The HRDC provides vocational training towards artisanship in the following trades:
Water Care/Treatment
Plumbing & Pipe Fitting
Auto/Diesel Mechanic
Electrician General
Carpentry & Joinery
Operator/Driver Training: Various Short Courses
Admittance Requirements
A candidate for any certificate towards artisanship should:
Be in possession of at least Grade 10 with passes in Maths & Science;
Pass an aptitude test for the particular trade; and
Have a sponsor who will finance his/her studies.
Lodging and Meals
The HRDC provides accommodation to vocational trainees against payment. An independent caterer provides meals to vocational trainees against payment too. Arrangements for meals are strictly between the caterer and the trainees.
