Purpose of use

Potable water supply from Koichab Aquifer to Lüderitz

Brief description of system

Water is abstracted from 9 boreholes in the Koichab Pan Aquifer and is collected in a reservoir. Water is transferred from the collector reservoir to the Lüderitz terminal reservoir by means of a 160/200 diameter uPVC/Asbestos cement/HDPE 120 km long gravity pipeline and 5 booster stations along the route.
